Chayan Bishayee is ESR10 and his research project is titled “Laser sealing of polymer microfluidic chips for bioapplications”.

Background: Chayan has an undergraduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering following which Chayan decided to pursue a Masters In Nanoscience and Nanotechnology specialising with nanoelectronics. During his studies, he became interested in packaging of devices for medical application and Integration of electronics.
Research Interested: Chayan is keenly interested in solving challenges dealing with packaging of microfluidic devices and increasing there functionalities with integration of electronics. Chayan previously worked on biomedical devices like cardiac stents and the possibility to integrate microelectronics sensors on them. Microfluidic devices and lab on chips are following a trend where they are becoming smaller day by day with enhanced functionality, Chayan likes to brainstorm the hurdles that come along with such a trend to reach the desired outcome.
