Nikhil Teja Sajja is ESR 12. Nikhil’s project is titled “Cryogenic machining of UHMWPE acetabular cup inserts”.
Background: Nikhil has a master’s in Advanced Manufacturing and Material Science Engineering (2021). During his masters, he worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant.
After he completed his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (2018), Nikhil worked in a manufacturing power plant (Power Mech Projects Limited) as a Mechanical Engineering for 1 year.
Research interests: Nikhil is interested in improving sustainability in manufacturing industries by using the advanced machining processes such as cryogenic-assisted machining, ultrasonic vibration-assisted machining, etc.. Machining plays one of the important roles in improving the surfaces of biomedical implants (polymers) which can influence the lifespan and wear rates of the part.
